Our pets are living longer than ever! Independence Equine and Small Animal Clinic is preventing diseases in dogs and cats through vaccinations and regular veterinary exams.
We want to help you keep your pet as healthy as possible. Some pets develop health conditions that need ongoing treatment and monitoring. We are here to help manage your pet’s health condition, whether it is a short-term illness or a chronic disease. In some cases, we will refer to a specialist for advanced diagnostics and treatments. However, we will stay in communication with that specialist about your pet’s status so we can continue to offer the best ongoing care possible.
Regular wellness exams are the best way to keep your pet healthy and prevent diseases before they become too difficult, or too costly, to treat. We recommend yearly wellness examinations for healthy adult dogs and cats, with more frequent visits for puppies and kittens, senior pets, and those with medical conditions. Not only do these exams keep us up-to-date with your pet’s health, they also allow us to detect potential problems before they become serious. Your pet will be thoroughly examined by a veterinarian and this checkup gives us vital information to help keep your pet healthy
You can expect basic heartworm tests for healthy dogs and more detailed diagnostics if the patient has a medical problem. We customize our wellness testing to meet the specific needs of your pet, without unnecessary lab work or procedures.
At this visit, our veterinarians take the time discuss your pet’s nutrition, explain parasite prevention, and address any other questions or concerns. The annual wellness exam is also the time to update vaccinations.
