Pet Nutrition

Achieve the right nutritional balance.

Appropriate nutrition is the foundation of a long, healthy life for our pets. Independence Small Animal is dedicated to working with you to ensure your pet’s health. One of the biggest problems we see is with proper nutrition, which is why we offer nutritional counseling to all of our clients. Developing and maintaining a balanced diet is paramount to good health, so we have a variety of different nutritional plans for your pet to go on.

Health Diet For Healthy Pets

Diets should be chosen on the basis of your pet’s life stage. Young animals’ nutritional needs are substantially different from those of adult and senior pets. Rest assured that we have the right plan for your animal.

When we examine your pet, we will evaluate their nutritional status and make specific recommendations regarding proper nutrition. We have a variety of prescription diets for each life stage and medical condition that we may be faced with. When we start your pet on a nutrition program, we counsel you on a continuing basis.

Nutrition For Disease Management

Specific disease conditions can be better managed through appropriate nutrition. Specialized diets are now available as part of a treatment plan for allergies, arthritis, cancer, gastrointestinal, heart, liver, kidney, urinary tract disease, dental care, diabetes, and weight management.

For questions regarding nutrition and your pet’s health, please contact Independence Small Animal.

Many pets have dietary needs that can only be met by prescribed nutrition. Our clinic carries a number of prescription diets that are often part of a total health care plan for your pet. Our veterinary staff is able to tailor individual nutrition plans based on your pet’s health needs.
